    Requirements under the syllabus show that in this section the study of the 1995 video of Pride & Prejudice must be undertaken with two other texts.

This article explores the society in which the characters in this best loved of Jane Austen's works live - the manners, habits and expectations of the English gentry in the 18th century - very different from our own. It is intended to assist in your understanding and appreciation of Austen's text and the video which was produced from it.
