Jane Austen Society of Australia At the seaside | Portsmouth | Southampton | Brighton | Jane Austen at the seasideThis Country Weekend was another major success for JASA and the organisers – in everything but numbers of attendees! These weekends are very relaxed affairs, very casual, and most inexpensive. They are usually built around 4+share accommodation and, particularly at this new venue at Stanwell Park, provide lots of excellent home cooking. They allow us to hear what have always been really marvellous short talks from our fellow members. You’d be surprised how much talent we have in the Society! The Stanwell Park venue is no more than one hour from the beginning of the F1 freeway, or has an excellent rail service to Otford, with a short walk (less than 100 metres) to the venue. Set in delightful natural surroundings, it makes the whole very pleasant weekend a total relaxation, with the added bonus of listening to our fellow members speak on our favourite subject. There are always new ideas to be found in this Society. Read the reports of members’ talks, and resolve to be a part of it next year in March!
