Have you noticed, in Amanda Jones’ review of Glenda Hudson’s Sibling Love & Incest in Jane Austen’s Fiction, in the June 2003 Sensibilities, that the ‘Is Austen Gay’ debate was started by a person called ‘Lesley Castle’, writing ‘Sister-Sister’?! 

Could that be true, or was someone afraid of putting their name to this debate, and resorted to an Austen Juvenilia title? 

Or was it all a furphy??
